Important info for participants!
Dear Participants,
You can read a few pieces of information below that may be useful.
There are several ways to get downtown from the airport:
- Take bus 100E from the airport – it costs only 1500 HUF.
- Take bus 200 E to Kőbánya Kispest, and from there you can take subway M3. (M3 runs only during weekdays, though. On he weekends, there are replacement buses.)
- .) Book a MINIBUD shuttle bus at the airport: https://www.minibud.hu/?lang=hu&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_eaR5NqM-AIVCRkGAB0EUw0xEAAYASAAEgJbYfD_BwE The cheapest rate is 6 EUR but normally, it costs 10-15 EUR/ one way trip.
- You can take a taxi. Főtaxi (+36 1 222 2222) has a kiosk outside the building of the airport. You can order your taxi there. A trip downtown costs approximately 11 000 HUF.
Transportation within Budapest
For transportation within Budapest, the following options are available: single tickets, time-based tickets 72-hour, 5/30 or 7-day travel cards. You can get these at the BKK kiosk at the airport if you come by air/ near the railway station if you come by train.
In order to get from ELTE University to the Embassy of Canada on Thursday evening, you will need a short section metro ticket (300 HUF).
To get to the venue of the conference dinner, you will need a single ticket (350 HUF), unless you have a valid travel card or pass.

You can purchase these tickets at the airport, in a BKK office near the railway station or from vending machines. For travel cards and passes, you will need an ID and the pass will be valid only with this document.

For getting your lunch during the lunch break, we strongly recommend Loyola Café (1085 Budapest, Horánszky u. 20. They have daily menus for 1650 HUF, there is always a vegetarian option, too.
You may also find many restaurants in Ráday u. and on Múzeum körút, as well.
