Ahmed Joudar

Ahmed Joudar is an Iraqi who is currently a PhD student at the University of Szeged.  His fields of interest are post-colonial literature, exile, migration, mulituculturalism, transculturism. In Canadian literature he is especially interested in Naim Kattan. With Kattan he shares his country of origin, though of course Kattan is Jewish and grew up in a totally different Iraq – he is now 89 and was part of the ancient Jewish community in Baghdad, whose two-and-a-half-thousand-year history is now a thing of the past, vanished in the turmoil of the current Middle East.  Prof. Dr. Katalin Kürtösi is the co-supervisor of Ahmed’s thesis.
