CALL FOR PAPERS

Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary and Eötvös Loránd University are pleased to announce a conference on “Canadian Generations in Culture and the Arts: Synchronic and Diachronic Approaches” to be held in Budapest, Hungary, on November 29-30, 2018.

The Conference Organizing Committee welcomes papers in English or French on the following themes:

  • citizenship
  • bilingualism
  • sports
  • the young
  • aging society
  • women
  • interpersonal relations
  • plurality
  • diversity
  • immigration/migration
  • multiculturalism
  • transculturalism
  • indigenous perspectives
  • identity
  • nationalism

The keynote lecture will be delivered by Michelle Gadpaille (University of Maribor, Slovenia). The intended program will also feature multiple thematic sessions as well as a teacher training event & film screening.

The French sessions will be coordinated by the Canada Center of Pázmány Péter Catholic University.

Presentations should be 20 minutes long. Undergraduate and graduate students will have their separate sessions with the opportunity of delivering 10-minute papers. Following the presentations, each panel will feature a Q&A session.

Abstracts of papers (maximum 250 words) and a one-paragraph CV for those planning to deliver papers should be submitted by e-mail to the organizers at deak.timea@kre.hu and karoli.canada@gmail.com by September 30, 2018. Participants will be notified of the acceptance of their paper proposals by October 15, 2018.

Conference participation is free but delivering a paper is subject to the approval of one’s abstract. A selection of essays will be published in a volume devoted to the theme of the conference.

APPEL à COMMUNICATIONS

L’Université Károli Gáspár de l’Église Réformée en Hongrie et l’Université Eötvös Loránd ont le plaisir d’annoncer l’organisation d’un colloque international sur le thème “Les générations dans l’art et la culture au Canada: approches synchroniques et diachroniques,” qui sera tenu à Budapest, en Hongrie, le 29 et le 30 novembre 2018.

Le Comité d’Organisation du Colloque attend des propositions de communications écrites en anglais ou en français, qui portent sur une ou plusieurs des thématiques abordées par le colloque:

  • citoyenneté
  • bilinguisme
  • le monde du sport
  • le monde des jeunes
  • le vieillissement de la société
  • la femme
  • les relations interpersonnelles
  • diversité
  • immigration / migration
  • multiculturalisme
  • transculturalisme
  • perspectives autochtones
  • identité
  • nationalisme
  • pluralité

La conférence plénière sera donnée par Michelle Gadpaille (Université de Maribor). Le programme proposera des sessions thématiques parallèles, des sessions pour étudiants, une section réservée aux professeurs de l’enseignement secondaire, ainsi que la projection de films.

Une section francophone sera organisée par le Centre d’Etudes Canadiennes de l’Université Catholique Pázmány Péter.

Les communications ne devront pas dépasser 20 minutes de longueur, celles des étudiants ne devront pas dépasser 10 minutes de longueur, avec 5 minutes réservées à la discussion.

Prière de soumettre par courriel le résumé de la communication proposée (ne pas excéder 250 mots s.v.p.) et un bref cv, aux adresses suivantes: deak.timea@kre.hu et karoli.canada@gmail.com le 30 septembre 2018 au plus tard. Le Comité d’Organisation informera les candidats de l’acceptation de leurs propositions avant le 15 octobre 2018.

Il n’y aura pas de frais de participation, mais seules les communications retenues par le comité d’organisation pourront être présentées au colloque. Un choix de communications sera publié dans un volume à part.
